I&#8217;ll stick my neck out and state that if you are solving big and important problems, it is almost certain you are in a culturally diverse work environment.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Lewis&#8217; book,\u00a0<a title=\"When Cultures Collide\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1904838022\/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=1904838022&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=stratexecuins-20\" target=\"_blank\">When Cultures Collide, 3rd Edition: Leading Across Cultures<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=stratexecuins-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=1904838022\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>, has an interesting framework to prepare for cross-cultural communication. A few words of caution:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 14px;\">There is no silver bullet when it comes to cross cultural communication.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 14px;\">Beware of stereotypes. Every culture has exceptions to the norm.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Keep an open mind and observe the communication patterns of your audience. Then base your proposals on what you observe.<\/li>\n<li>Following the etiquette dictated by a culture to show your respect and not compromising on your goals and values are two different things. You can, and should do both.
